Three Injured in Two Separte Riverside Shootings

by Contributing Editor

Three people were injured during two separate early morning shootings in Riverside that happened within an hour of each other Sunday.

The first occurred at about 1:10 a.m. at a house party in the 2700 block of Boundary, where police had received reports of gunfire, according to Riverside city police Officer Ryan Railsback.

When police arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in front of the home, prompting an officer and bystanders to render first aid before the victim was taken to a hospital, Railsback said.

Police said the man was in stable condition.

While at the scene, police learned that a second gunshot victim with non-life threatening injuries from the same location transported themselves to a hospital.

“It’s believed a party was shutting down when an altercation occurred and someone fired several rounds from a gun, striking the two victims,” said Railsback.

About an hour later, officers patrolling the downtown entertainment district heard gunshots just as businesses in the area were closing for the night, according to Railsback.

When officers checked out the scene, they found a person suffering from a gunshot at Orange Street and Mission Inn Avenue.

That victim was taken to a hospital, though his condition was not immediately known.

There was no suspect information for either of the shootings.
