Car slams through 2nd-floor wall of parking structure near Burbank Airport

BURBANK — A driver who suffered a medical emergency Thursday night crashed his car through the second-floor wall of a parking structure near Hollywood Burbank Airport.

Police and firefighters responded to the 2600 block of Hollywood Way, near Thornton Avenue, at 10:37 p.m. and located the driver in the vehicle, according to the Burbank Police Department.

“(Driver) appears to have had a medical issue,” BPD tweeted.

The department stressed the vehicle was not “teetering off the side of the structure,” and tweeted a photo of the crash scene.

Video from ABC7 showed officers asking the driver to perform a field sobriety test, but he was not immediately taken into custody.

No injuries were reported.

An investigation into the crash was underway.
