Family members charged for Disneyland brawl that went viral

Three adults have been charged for what prosecutors say were their roles in a brawl early this month in Disneyland’s Toontown that went viral after a park-goer recorded it and posted it to social media.

Avery Desmond-Edwinn Robinson, 35, of Las Vegas is facing five felony charges and nine misdemeanors for attacking his girlfriend, sister, brother-in-law and endangering four children, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office said.

Prosecutors said Tuesday, July 23, that Robinson threatened to kill members of his family as he drove out of the Disneyland parking lot and assaulted an employee with his vehicle after they were escorted out of the park by security.

“The Orange County District Attorney’s Office does not tolerate domestic violence or child endangerment anywhere,” Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said in a statement.

Robinson is facing one felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury, and one felony count of assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury related to the attack on his girlfriend, prosecutors said. He is also accused of felony assault with a deadly weapon, two felony counts of criminal threats, five misdemeanor counts of battery and four misdemeanor counts of child abuse and endangerment.

He faces more than seven years in state prison if convicted. He has been booked into Orange County Jail.

Robinson’s sister, Andrea Nicole Robinson, faces four misdemeanor charges of battery for attacking her brother Avery, his girlfriend, and a Disneyland employee, prosecutors say. The 40-year-old Compton woman faces one count of misdemeanor assault for attacking her brother’s girlfriend, prosecutors said.

If convicted, she could serve two and a half years.

Andrea’s husband, Daman Petrie, 44, also of Compton faces one misdemeanor count of battery for punching Avery’s girlfriend in the face, prosecutors said. He faces six months in jail.

The family fought in front of park guests, with some trying to intervene until security arrived.
