Police find infant and teen dead in Ontario home; mother unresponsive

An infant and teenager were found dead inside a home in Ontario on Tuesday, while their mother was hospitalized with injuries, authorities said.

Homicide detectives are investigating the case as a “suspicious death,” though they have not yet determined the circumstances surrounding the childrens’ deaths, said Sgt. Bill Russell with the Ontario Police Department. The nature of the woman’s injuries was not immediately made public.

Shortly after 4 p.m., police were called to a home in the 500 block of Tam O’Shanter Street, Russell said. Officers who arrived at the home found the two children and the mother, who was unresponsive at the time.

Paramedics transported her to a local hospital, where she was reported to be stable.

Police said there was no threat to the neighborhood, but told residents to stay out of the area.
