A man was killed and his passenger was injured when the car he was driving late on Tuesday crashed into a parked SUV in Mission Hills, police said.
The crash occurred around 9:56 p.m. in the 10100 block of Woodman Avenue. That’s where a white Mazda RX7 was found with its hood crumpled and its right side door smashed in, after slamming into the front end of the SUV, according to reports from the scene.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and declared the Mazda’s driver dead at the scene. He has not been identified.
The woman in the Mazda’s passenger seat was injured and taken to a local hospital.
Witnesses told police the vehicle that crashed was racing with another vehicle seconds before the deadly accident. No information about a second vehicle has been released.
