Home and garage burn in Encino hills as LAFD looks for pet dog

by Daily News

Flames from a detached garage heavily involved with fire spread to a home in the hills of Encino early Tuesday as firefighters searched the burning property for the family dog.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded about 9:04 a.m. to the property on the 3700 block of Valley Meadow Road, south of Ventura Boulevard and just off Sepulveda Boulevard in Encino, said the LAFD’s Brian Humphrey.

By 9:24 a.m., the LAFD had deployed a total of 60 firefighters to the scene, he said.

Firefighters found the detached garage heavily involved with fire, which had already spread to the main structure, said Humphrey.

All of the people living in the home were safely evacuated, said Humphrey, but firefighters were looking for a pet dog that was unaccounted for after the fire started.
